The market town of Banbury, in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, has a population of well over 40,000 people. Although not used predominantly for transport, the Oxford Canal does in fact flow through Banbury. Popular with narrowboat operators connecting to the Grand Union Canel, the canal can often get quite busy at times.
