County Westmeath,
in central Ireland, is a large county with a population of around
80,000 people in total. The county is made up of several towns
including Mullingar and Athlone (the two largest) and Kilbegaan,
Castlepollard and Moate.
Westmeath is a largely agricultural county with Moate, Mullinger and
Kinnegard the main urban areas. The Royal Canal in Mullinger allows

Delaney Cup, Leinster Senior Football Championship and the Christy
Ring Cup (hurling).
Westmeath is home to several picturesque towns and villages
including Delvin, Athlone, Horseleap, Castlepollard, Coole, Moate,
Rosemount, Collinstown, Raharney, Glarsson and Multyfarnham.
Westmeath is famous for its cattle and horses. The Mullingar Cattle
are renowned for their high quality beef and are very popular.
Westmeath is also famed for having many stud farms that allow the
horses to be reared while their bones develop.
